Get a Personal Trainer at the Library

Everyone’s heard of Jillian Michaels of The Biggest Loser fame, but just recently, I became acquainted with a Ms. Kelly Coffey-Meyer through MCPL. No, she wasn’t doing bicep curls in the adult nonfiction section. I entered "aerobic exercise" in the subject line of the search engine on the online catalog and came across her 30-minutes to Fitness workout series. If you have a life outside of the gym and want to see results in a half hour, then I highly recommend her Boot Camp and Cardio Blast DVDs.
In Boot Camp, you will get a complete head to toe, heart pumping workout. I especially like her fencing upper arm workout (basically because there is no way my family or coworkers would ever let me play with a sword, let alone touch one).
Hate crunches? So do I! Workout #2 on Cardio Blast is all Plyometrics. Trust me; if you do 16 jump tucks, you’ll feel it in your abs the next day. (A jump tuck is when both feet leave the ground and you tuck your knees into your chest). Don’t panic. Kelly always shows how to modify the exercises for beginners.
If your New Year’s Resolution is to get in shape, look up Kelly Coffey-Meyer.
