Free Classes with ed2go
February 25, 2013
Henry Ford once said, "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young." I have discovered a treasure through MCPL's Online Resource to help explore new subjects and improve my skills. Have you checked out the ed2go classes that are available for free to people who have a valid library card? They offer many classes, ranging from accounting to health care to computer applications.
I found a variety of helpful photography courses that I can take to improve my skills. I am currently taking a course called Secrets to Better Photography. It is a 6-week course designed to help the student become more familiar with the different features that a digital SLR camera has to offer. I have learned about shutter speed, aperature, ISO, light balance, and framing a shot. I feel like I have gotten many helpful tips, and now I'm not afraid to take my camera out of the automatic settings and play around with it a bit. I even talked my husband into taking the course with me, and we have enjoyed discussing different techniques to get better pictures. I plan on continuing to enroll in the free courses as they are offered. Up next, I may take either Travel Photography for the Digital Photographer or Photoshop Elements. I can't wait! Now I need to plan a fun trip to try out my new skills.
