The slow cooker is a handy year-round appliance that I regularly use in my home. I love being able to pre-prepare my meals on the weekends. I simply toss the ingredients into the cooker before I leave for work, and when I return my meal is complete. Whether you are at work, shopping, or at your child’s soccer game, this wonderful appliance allows you to escape while your dinner is cooking.
However, finding healthy, easy meals can be a chore. My family has recently been focusing more on healthy foods, and in my search I found Fix-It and Forget-It Lightly by Phyllis Pellman Good. I immediately knew this book was for me because the nutritional information is included with each recipe. Many of the recipes call for condensed cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup, and the book contained easy recipes for both of these ingredients.
If you enjoy your slow cooker as much as I do, or if you want a great selection of healthy recipes, I urge you to check this book out. By the way, the title of this blog is funnier when you use an Italian accent.
