Football This, Football That...
September 20, 2010
Now I have to be honest, I don’t watch college football, nor do I have many of the statistics of the teams memorized. Honestly, I can’t even tell you what all the plays are. But, I do know that there are many resources in the library to utilize if you are interested in such information.
First, there are the newspapers: The Kansas City Star and the St. Joseph News-Print. Many times there are articles and stats found in these papers. Also, the Camden Point Branch subscribes to the Sports Illustrated and the Kids Sports Illustrated, which are good magazines if you are a sports fan wanting all the "in" information. The library also contains books on football players. The History of the Kansas City Chiefs by Brian Hawkins can be found at the Camden Point Branch, while other books on football players such as Reggie Bush and Larry Fitzgerald, and even tips on how to play football can be found throughout the system. There are fiction books, kid’s books, and movies to enjoy as well.
If you are a football fan, you can go to the library catalog and type in "football" as the subject and see what fun things you can find to enjoy this football season!
