Finding Aids Find Their Way to MGC’s Archives!
June 08, 2013
The Midwest Genealogy Center recently created a new Archival Collections page. This webpage has a wealth of new resources for genealogy researchers to access and use. One of these resources is finding Aids to MGC’s Archival Collections. What are finding aids, you may be asking? Finding aids are the library catalog equivalent in the archival world. These tools help researchers understand the scope of an archival collection as well as exactly what types of information are contained in each collection.
In addition to finding aids, a number of MGC’s collections also have folder or name indexes. These indexes help to provide researchers with more access points to our archival information. So stop by MGC’s Archival Collections page and explore our finding aids!
