February Teen Book Discussion
January 18, 2012
How do you go on when you lose your sister to an eating disorder? Join us at the Antioch Branch on Monday, February 6, at 6:30 p.m. and discover how Jane copes as we discuss Jane in Bloom by Deborah Lytton.
In the book, Jane's big sister, Lizzie, had always been the center of attention. No one ever paid attention to boring, plain Jane, but when her twelfth birthday marks the beginning of Lizzie's final descent into a fatal eating disorder, Jane discovers that the only thing harder than living in her big sister's shadow is living without her. In the wake of tragedy, Jane learns to look through her camera lens and frame life differently, embracing her broken family and understanding that every girl has her season to blossom.
Copies of the novel are available at the library. Join us for the lively discussion of this Truman Award nominee. Snacks will be provided.
