February Book Talk Selection Anything But "Dead"

January 13, 2011

Newspaper editor Luka Sims wants to know why the inhabitants of the city are leaving town. He knows it’s not the living conditions. The city’s residents are all dead.

Meanwhile in Antarctica, Laura Bryd is fighting for her life. Trapped in a research station with dwindling supplies, no radio, and failing power, she sets out in search of help.

So go the competing storylines of our February Book Talk selection The Brief History of the Dead by Kevin Brockmeier.

The Book Talk group at Mid-Continent Public Library-Kearney Branch will discuss this haunting tale of love, loss and the power of memory Friday, Feb. 4 at 10 a.m.

Come pick up a copy of the book, and join us for the talk.
