I read an article in USA Today where they interviewed people about their favorite apps. They were given a large variety of answers, and they did not find any one app that got a lot of votes. Some apps got a couple. One of the apps that was listed is an app I use quite often, and I have to say, I am very fond of. It is called Grocery IQ. I haven’t had to write a paper grocery list since I got it. I can keep grocery lists according to what store I can find certain items in. I can rearrange the aisle listings to match the actual stores. I can keep a favorites list for each store. All I have to do is check my favorites to create my list.
Another app that I use often that was not listed in the USA today article is my Key Ring app. I have all of my little key ring cards from stores (and the library) logged in to my app. When I visit stores that I have a key ring card for, I just bring up the barcode on my phone, and they can wand it in. It is very handy, and I don’t have to keep all of those cards on my key ring.
Another app I use a lot is my mSecure app. I have usernames and passwords for quite a lot of websites. I am able to keep track of those with this app. I also have a lot of other personal information that is handy when I am talking to various people, and they want to know security particulars. This app is secured with its own password, the only one I truly have to remember!
Other favorite apps are the Facebook app, Weather Channel app, USA Today app (where I read the article), and some that came with my devices, including the contact app, email app (I have mine, my husband’s and mine, and my work email at my fingertips), and calendar app (I can keep track of appointments, birthdays and anniversaries, and my schedule at work with different colors).
Last but not least is my Overdrive app. It allows me to check out eBooks and audiobooks with my MCPL library card (which I have the number on my Key Ring app and my mSecure app). I can download them onto my devices. When I find myself somewhere that I have to wait, or if I go out to eat by myself, I always have something to read. I enjoy listening to the audiobooks when I am driving in my car.
What are some of your favorite apps?
