Q. Which president had the teddy bear named after him?
A. President Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909)
President Roosevelt had once refused to shoot a bear cub while hunting, which inspired a political cartoon. The bear in the cartoon further inspired toy manufactures, and the result was the "Teddy Bear." People began calling him "Teddy," which he didn't like. None of his friends called him that.
