Family Fun Night
June 13, 2012
A new program starting in Buckner this summer is a Family Fun Night. It's geared at boys and girls ages 8-15 and meets every Thursday night from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. This program was created to provide boys and girls in the community, and their parents, a night to have fun by offering a variety of games they can participate in together in a safe environment. At the end of the evening, a mentoring session will be held by the police or fire department on different topics with the boys and girls.
This event is held at Buckner Elementary school and is sponsored by Fort Osage School District, LINC Caring Communities, and Buckner Fire and Police Departments. MCPL in Buckner has a staff member that is representing the Library by attending the LINC meetings and assisting at the Thursday night events this summer. This is one way our Library can be involved in our local community.
