Love the book! The Disney movie is not entirely like the book. I grew up loving the musical with Dick Van Dike, and I was thrilled to have found the book. When I started to read the book, I was disappointed with Disney. I enjoyed the book version more than the Disney movie; however, I still enjoy singing the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang song from the musical. I would like to ask the makers of the film why the book version was not good enough for film.

Roadwork by Sally Sutton
Roadwork  reminded me a lot of Smash! Crash! It had a lot of action words, and it was exciting to read, truly a fun book to read aloud. I don’t know a kid that doesn’t like heavy machinery or heavy equipment. I wish I could read this book to the folks doing construction in my neighborhood, and perhaps our construction would be complete.
