Fall Programs Are Here
October 05, 2010
With the arrival of fall and cooler weather, the days of spending time outside, playing with the kids, working in your garden, or even just sitting out on the deck are quickly drawing to a close. So you ask yourself, what can I do to occupy my time? The answer lies in the latest issue of Beyond the Books. This handy little booklet has enough activities packed inside to keep kids from 1 to 101 busy throughout the fall and winter.
If you are into crafts and would like to share your talents with others, many branches host groups which meet regularly. Is quilting is your thing? Several branches have quilting groups which meet regularly. At the Raytown Branch, Colleen’s Crochet Connections meets once a month for fun and fellowship, along with learning something new. There’s also craft time for kids at most branches.
As fall turns to winter and Christmas time quickly approaches, Mid-Continent will offer 3 special programs to get you into the spirit of the season; Night Before Christmas Carol, Discovering Dickens with Dr. Elliot Engel, and A Christmas Carol with Gerald Dickens.
Not only are there program’s available at all Mid-Continent branches, we are also helping you maintain good health throughout the winter. The American Red Cross will be administering flu shots at several MCPL Branches during the month of October. Check our Events page for locations and times.
Don’t forget to pick up your copy of Beyond the Books today at any Mid Continent Library, and "Let Your Imagination Soar", this fall.
