Fake Tree or Real Tree?

December 07, 2011

If you put up a Christmas tree, is it fake or real? Because of my allergies that I am afflicted with all year round, we always had to have a fake tree. Some artificial trees are pretty nice, and some are even scented with pine spray. No needles, no mess; that’s what I like.

Regardless of what type of tree you have, now let me ask you, how do you decorate? White lights or colored lights? Do you have blinking lights, flashing lights, or lights that don’t blink or move at all? Do you have homemade ornaments or ornaments that have been passed down from generation to generation? Do you have a theme for your tree? For several years, I decorated one of my trees all in clowns and little plastic balloons, while the other tree was all in red bows and apples. Then one year, I got really old fashioned. I strung popcorn and dried fruit, and hung that in the tree. Then after the holidays I put it out in the pasture for the animals to eat. I’ve done so many different things. I love to decorate the tree. I love to decorate the house.

If you are fresh out of ideas or want to start new tree traditions or want to improve your holiday decorating skills, please check out MCPL’s Christmas decorating idea books. For more information, just ask one of the staff member’s, or browse the non-fiction aisle at 641.5686. You will find all sorts of good holiday decorating ideas including:
