Exercise, Exercise, Exercise...

August 24, 2012

What kind of exercise do you like to do? Me, I love to walk...especially outside. I like to just walk anywhere outside to watch or listen to nature, or to feel the sun on my face. Nice weather is always a factor when you want to exercise outside. I know that the weather will change, though, so I walk as much as I can for as long as I can.

There are so many other ways of exercising outdoors, too. I know that a lot of people run every day. I used to run every day, but it got too hard on my knees. So, I went back to walking. There is biking, which is very good. I use to have a 10 speed bike that I took to college with me and rode everywhere. There is swimming; you can swim outside or inside. Other exercise could be canoeing or kayaking (my husband does kayaking for his exercise).

There’s nothing like being out on the water rowing across the lake. The calming waters or maybe not so calming waters, depending on who else is out on the water and whatever kind of boat they are on.

MCPL has plenty of exercise videos and books on hand to choose from on any exercise you prefer.

  4. Kayaking by Valerie Bodden

Come in and see what kind of exercise you can find get started doing. It doesn't always have to be a New Year's resolution; you can start anytime, just as long as you enjoy what you are doing.

Happy Exercising!
