Eat, Pray, Love & Blog

Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India & Indonesia, is an interesting read. Author, Elizabeth Gilbert writes an honest, open, and amusing memoir detailing a yearlong trip of self-healing from personal hardships. To achieve this process of recovery, she travels to Italy for pleasure, India for devotion, and Indonesia to balance the two. While searching for peace and happiness, Gilbert experiences a series of emotional and cultural challenges outside of her comfort zone.
For me, the trip to Italy was emotional and humorous. India became a bit long and somewhat weary, and Indonesia was an interesting and educational cultural experience sprinkled with a little romance.
I would recommend that you check out the audio version. There were portions of the book where I might have lost interest had I read the print version. Knowing the audiobook was read by Elizabeth Gilbert made her story feel personal and alive. Listeners will also experience the languages that were spoken in the three countries, exactly the way they were meant to be.
