DW and Audiobooks
October 23, 2012
Hello again from D.W. This month I would like to wrap-up my time discussing the audiobook collection and my experiences with it over the last few years.
This month I have been listening to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although I have enjoyed it, I can honestly say that it would have been a better choice for a read along experience. Or, possibly as a refresher for someone who has already read the series. The names of characters and locations were too similar in pronunciation and, at times, made it a challenge to keep straight when listening in the car, where my attention was distracted.
I did, however enjoy the tale. I had resisted the pressure from others to read this set of books as well as see the movies. As with the Harry Potter series, I now understand why so many people enjoy them. And now I am ready to see the movies to further enhance my experience.
I hope my posts on audiobooks have opened some eyes to a few more uses for this resource. The possibilities for the use of audiobooks are spread over all ages and a variety of applications. Whether for entertainment or for educational purposes, audiobooks can be used more often by all of us .
I’ll "see" you again in December with an introduction to my next series. But don’t let your audio experiences end.
