Dream Big...READ!
April 30, 2012
There is less than a month before our Summer Reading Program begins! I thought it’d be fun to play a game to see how well you know the books in our collection. Can you identify a book just by seeing part of the cover?
I took a picture of a book located in the Blue Ridge Branch's Juvenile Fiction section, and then cropped out a section of it, which includes the first letter of the book title. You can see the photo here. This book was written by Brian Jacques (his last name is pronounced “Jakes") and is the 20th book in a very popular series that features woodland animals.
Jacques passed away in February of 2011. You can find out a little bit more about this wonderful author in the Something About the Author Research Database. You can find out even more at his official website.
Did you figure out the name of the book based on the photo and the clues? Check to see if you’re right…did you guess Doomwyte?
The Redwall series has 22 published titles in it. Can you read all of them this summer? Why not? Dream BIG!
