Don't Know Where to Turn?
March 25, 2013
I was desperate for an adult fiction book to get me in a good reading frame of mind, something different from the plethora of titles I was reading for a reading challenge a month before. No matter how hard I browsed, I was striking out left and right. But then it occurred to me to try one of our great book-finding resources, Novelist Plus. What a brilliant idea!
I wanted something similar to previous reads, and so I took a chance that I would find something awesome to read on it. Once I had the resource fired up, I searched for the author, Suzy Gershman; I had just read her book, C’est la Vie. I selected read-a-likes and received several hits like French Lessons by Ellen Sussman and The Flaneur by Edmund White. I’m currently reading Sussman’s book, and I love it. French Lessons is a bit provocative and not for the faint of heart, but quite enjoyable.
Once you have exhausted your fiction search, you can choose the nonfiction tab. There you can select travel, then Europe, and you will be set up with another selection of amazing titles to choose from.
