Don't Be Fooled By the Cute Face!
September 15, 2010
This is Adam. Adam is cute. Adam is a very bad dog!
Yes, it seems that ever since the book Marley and Me by John Grogan hit the stands in 2005, everyone has a “bad” dog. And many people have capitalized on Marley's and Grogan’s success. To keep up with the trend, MCPL offers “bad” dog biographies, as wells as training books and videos to help train your “bad” dog.
MCPL offers many books about “bad” dogs and their masters’ comical (and yes, sometimes sad) adventures. Some of the favorites include:
- Marley and Me by John Grogan
- Dreaming in Libro: How a Good Dog Tamed a Bad Woman by Louise Bernikow
- Come Back, Como: Winning the Heart of a Reluctant Dog by Steven Winn
MCPL also offers books and videos for training your dog, if you want to try to get your “bad” dog to be the "perfect” pooch. They are available in the 636.7 non-fiction section of the library. Additionally, MCPL has books and videos by the great dog whisperer Cesar Millan.
But, as Adam says, “Enjoy the books and videos. But, don't expect to teach a "cute" dog new tricks."
