Dog Days of Summer
August 09, 2010
As the last days of summer draw near, don’t let your mind fizzle out. School will be starting again soon! Students of all ages and schools of thought can benefit by interesting reading. Put aside the Beach Reads, the kids picture books, and read something you can think about. Think about picking up some Non-Fiction Novelties from our display at the Antioch Branch. Look for narrative non-fiction, history, biographies, true crime, short stories and so much more!

Great idea-
I really enjoy the non-fiction books by Jon Katz who writes about his "Dog Days" in a series of memoirs featuring many dogs he has loved and lost on his Bedlam Farm. His latest book, "Soul of a Dog: reflections on the spirits of the animals on Bedlam Farm" is really a collection of short stories about the various animals that have made their way into his life. If you enjoy James Herriot books, you'll find this an excellent choice.
