A Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the temple in 164 BC.
Kwanzaa – December 26th - January 1st
A weeklong secular holiday honoring the African American heritage.
New Years Eve – December 31st
Celebration of the end of the year.
Saint Nicholas Day – December 6th
A popular Christian Saint among children across Europe because of his reputation as a bringer of gifts. Santa Claus is a figure whose attributes are derived from the myths of St. Nicholas
Santa Lucia Day – December 13th
Festival of lights celebrated in Sweden, Norway, and parts of Finland in honour of St. Lucia, one of the earlier Christian martyrs. St.Lucia was killed by the Romans in AD304 because of her religious beliefs.
Winter Solstice (Northern Hemisphere) – December 21
The first day of winter. (I don’t really think that’s something worth celebrating!!).
