Do-it-yourself Haircuts, World War I, and a Very Big Owl!
September 15, 2011
A whole bunch of fun, informative, and free programs are coming up at the Excelsior Springs Branch. Here is a look at what’s happening next week.
Easy Inexpensive Haircuts
Monday, September 19 at 6:30 pm
Save yourself some time and money by learning how to do a basic and easy haircut by yourself. This program is a workshop and, in order to participate, you will need to bring a towel and someone willing to let you cut their hair. You are also encouraged to bring scissors and a comb to the program.
Propaganda in World War I
Tuesday, September 20 at 7 pm
Take a step back in time and see how propaganda was used in World War I. A volunteer from the World War I museum will be at the library to show us some of the posters that were used, and tell us more about the role propaganda played in this historic conflict.
Take Flight with an Eagle-Owl
Saturday, September 24 at 2:30 pm
He is one of the largest owls in the world, with a 5’ wingspan. He is Swoop the Eagle-Owl, and he’s coming to the library for you to see. Learn some fascinating facts about owls, and don’t forget to bring your camera. You can get your picture taken with Swoop.
Call us at 630-6721 if you need more information.
