Discovering Magazines Again
December 28, 2010
Yesterday, I found myself helping out with all the magazines in our library. It is time to move things around: make room for the new titles coming in, and move out the titles we will no longer carry. In an effort to help out with this transition, I had an opportunity to go through each of the magazines. It has been a while since I have looked through them, and I am amazed at both the number and the variety of titles to which we subscribe. Did you know that we not only carry adult periodicals, but also teen and children’s magazines? Did you know that you can check out magazines – all except the current copy?
In the children’s magazines, there are some for both boys and girls, such as Boy’s Life and American Girls. Some great educational magazines such as Kids Discover and Click are there also. In the teen section, you can find an anime magazine called Shonen Jump. There are also gaming magazines such as Nintendo Power and Game Informer. Seventeen is very popular with teenage girls.
The adult area is amazing. There is so much variety. Some of the topics are genealogy, travel, education, wedding planning, family life, fitness, different animals, home décor, weddings, sports, news, and hobbies such as quilting, beading, and gardening.
We are adding 21 new titles to the list of magazines to which we subscribe. There will be six new titles in the children’s area, two more in the teen’s area, and 13 new titles in the adult area. Come discover the magazines again!
