December Featured Employee of the Month
December 07, 2012
Last month, we hired a few new employees at our Excelsior Springs Branch. One of those new employees is Wayne, who is now a Substitute Library Clerk. Wayne is a retired law enforcement officer for the city of Excelsior Springs. He served for 31 years, and for the last 5 he was a detective. I had the pleasure of asking him a few questions today.
Me: How are you enjoying your new job here at the Library?
Wayne: I’m loving it, but the computer’s dealing me a fit so far!
Me: What’s the problem with the computers?
Wayne: The computer’s fine, it’s just I’m running crossways!
Me: What has been the biggest challenge with your new job here?
Wayne: Remembering all of the computer procedures.
Me: What has been your favorite part of your new job?
Wayne: Meeting a lot of new people.
Me: What made you want to work at the Library?
Wayne: My son used to work here, and he liked it. And I like the people that work here.
Me: Do you have a favorite author?
Wayne: Probably John Steinbeck.
Me: What do you hope to accomplish within the next year here?
Wayne: Master the computer!
Wayne, thank you for your interview! We are very happy to have Wayne here working with us, and we are sure that over time he WILL master the computer! Be sure to come by and say "hi" to him at our branch!
