December 21, 2012 – Just Another Y2K?

December 04, 2012

Do you remember all the angst, hoopla, and dire predictions that floated around as the millennium approached?

All sorts of catastrophes were predicted: the Y2K bug, a technological winter, etc.

Now, here we are on the eve of the Mayan, Hopi, I Ching, Webbot, and other Doomsday Preppers end-of-time scenarios – 12/21/12.

We do know that on that day, we will have an alignment of the planets seen only in thousands and thousands of years that the sun will be opposite the very center of our galaxy where our black hole resides. That the tsunami and earthquake in Japan pushed the tilt of the axis of the earth an additional six degrees and that aberrant weather is happening all over the world.

But what does it all mean? Will Mother Nature show us the full extent of her power and cleansing ability, or will we wake up December 22 sheepishly glad to have dodged the bullet, then carry on as we have done before?

Sometimes we seem to be our own worst enemies, the highest predators on earth who cannot get along.

MCPL has an extensive selection on all these topics, from predictors to astronomy, weather facts, and the tensions that exist between nations (from every point of view). Let us also not forget the valuable Research Databases we have for quick access when one might not have time to read books on the various topics or get most current news.

And here’s to 12/22/12!
