De-Stressing for the Holidays
December 14, 2010
Do you find yourself running around like a crazy person trying to create that “perfect” holiday season for your family? Are you exhausted from decking the halls with every Christmas decoration you own, baking every new cookie recipe you see, attending every holiday event or party across the greater KC area, or shopping for every family member or casual acquaintance? If the answer is yes, give yourself permission to take a few minutes for yourself. Check into some of the relaxation tips from one of the following books.
- The Little Book of Aromatherapy by Kathi Keville
- 15 Minute Gentle Yoga by Louise Grime
- 1001 Ways to Relax by Susannah Marriott
- Home Spa by Stephanie Donaldson
Or maybe, you would like to get away from it all by laughing out loud. In that case, try Lisa Lutz’s The Spellman Files, the first in a series of four fictional stories about a dysfunctional family that works together (or not) to solve mysteries.
Whatever you do to de-stress, remember that the holiday season is supposed to be a joyful time, so make it so!
