The Day There Were Three Sarahs at Blue Springs North!

August 26, 2010

Once upon a time, in a kingdom nearby, there was a lovely library, it had everything a reader might want. This wonderful place had thousands of books, movies, and music CDs. There were fun book clubs, storytimes, and Anime movie nights. Sometimes there were even lions and tigers (no bears), oh my! This special place had everything---except a third Sarah:{

There was a Blonde Sarah that read to the kingdom's children at Storytime. She read, sang, and even danced with the children. There was also a Brunette Sarah. She read wonderful novels with the adults, at Book Club. She also ruled the kingdom of "Book Nuts", where the kids read and discussed books--then participated in fun associated activities! Alas, there were only two Sarahs. Readers all know that great story themes come in threes, ie The Three Bears, The Billy Goats Three, The Three Little Kittens, and let's not forget the classic Three Musketeers!

Well, one day, a very special day, a program was held at this library and guess who was a special guest? Did you guess a third Sarah?

If you answered yes you are correct! August 14th a great presenter visited the kingdom of the Blue Springs North branch. His name was Bill Whinery. His program was titled The Deluxe Raptor and it was regal! We, in the kingdom, eagerly await his next visit. Sir Whinery brought with him many raptors, but the most greatly admired and anticipated was Lady Sarah Cooper! She was a Cooper hawk. You may have seen one at your bird feeder, as they hunt other birds:{ While here, she was very well behaved. We learned a great deal about her and the other raptors.

The best part was that Cooper Hawks are rust colored. We not only had our third Sarah---we had a Red Headed Sarah!
