Creative Fun At the Library
November 25, 2011
Celtic face masks. Holiday decorations. Kids learning to dance. This is just a taste of some of the fun and creative programs that are waiting for you at the Excelsior Springs Branch in the coming days.
Let’s Make a Holiday Wreath or a Christmas Centerpiece: Thursday, December 1 @ 6:30 p.m.
Need something to decorate a certain room for the holidays? Here’s a program that will show you how to put mismatched items together to create a truly unique wreath or centerpiece. This program is for adults. There is a list at our front desk of supplies that we ask you to bring.
Move Your Feet: Friday, December 2 @ 4 p.m.
This will be one of the few times kids get to dance around at the library. Staff member Laura Cherrito will teach young participants all sorts of basic dance steps and combinations. They will also get to put together a small dance and perform it at the end of the program. This program is for children aged 6 and up.
Is This Your New Year: Tuesday, December 6 @ 6:30 pm
Attention parents. Here is your chance to make something really creative with your kids, while helping them learn about how people of other cultures celebrate their New Year. You will make a Celtic Mask, a Chinese paper lantern, and a (fake) Indian oil lamp. This program is for children aged 5 and up, as well as their parents.
You can sign up for any of these programs on our website or call us at 630-6721 for more information.
