Cozy Mystery Time
May 14, 2013
A cozy mystery is a part of the mystery fiction genre. The violence is treated with humor, plus the crime and detective work takes place in a close community. I love reading cozy mysteries because of the variety of stories. I have read topics ranging from books about dog walkers to witches in this genre.
I am currently reading a book called Brownies and Broomsticks by Bailey Cates. Bailey Cates has a sequel to this book called Bewitched, Bothered, and Biscotti. This book features the characters Katie, Lucy, and Ben. They start a bakery business and someone dies in the parking lot. We also find out that Lucy is a witch of sorts, and Katie could be one, too! It is a fun book, and I am looking forward to reading the sequel.
Another book that I really enjoyed is Decked by Carol Higgins Clark; her mother is Mary Higgins Clark. This is the first book in a series. The main character is Regan Reilly. She is a private investigator. Decked is set on a cruise ship. It is a lot of fun to explore the ship, along with the city of London with Regan’s friends and family.
I have several on my list to read thanks to a website I found called Cozy Mystery List. This site allows you to search for books by authors and themes. It is a lot of fun to sit and go through this website to see what is new and recommended. I get ideas from this site on what to read and order them through our catalog.
If you are interested in a fun mystery that will put a smile on your face, I recommend a cozy mystery. Once I tried it, I was hooked.
