Correct the Seasoning with a Great Website

December 20, 2010

Have you been to allrecipes.com?  It’s so much fun!  Use it to search for any type of recipe and to compare the many versions that thousands of cooks have posted on the site.

I usually search for something specific, like the pulled pork I made for our family’s Labor Day get-together.  Readers review the recipes after they’ve made them. They let you know how the dish turned out, and how they may have modified the recipes to their and their loved ones' tastes.  Allrecipe.com brings up your recently viewed recipes (assuming you're checking from the same computer) even if you haven’t created the account the site calls "My Recipe Box".  There are advertisements on the site, but they’re not excessive -- a real plus in my opinion.

Before reporting on the site today, I noticed that there’s a "Christmas" tab at the top with recipes categorized by type of dish and, more importantly to me today, by type of meal.  I’m always looking for Christmas brunch recipes, and, Oh!  Wow! I just saw “Best Carrot Cake Ever.”  I will have to look at that more later.  Back to the brunch casseroles.

If you visit the site, check out "Sunshine Chicken."  It’s so easy and sooooo tasty.  The recipe has been reviewed (and/or modified) 160+ times, so you don’t have to take my word for it.  But do let me know what you think of allrecipes.com, and, bon appetit!
