Confessions of a Spunky Librarian
August 20, 2012
I’m going to share with you a true story. The other day, I was at the bookstore looking for One Shot by Lee Child.
Why One Shot? you ask – Tom Cruise is going to be playing Jack Reacher in the movie Reacher. The plot, according to the author, is the based on the book One Shot. For other books being turned into movies, be sure to check out our website where we have a comprehensive list.
Side-track aside, I found it on the shelves. I picked it up, elated that after weeks of random searching, I found it. Before I got in the checkout line, something funny happened (on the way to the forum) – I put the book back. I realized that I could save my $10 and download it for free to my Kindle. (See photo – it’s there).
As you can probably deduce from the photo, I use the Library…a lot! And that’s just a portion of what I have currently checked out. The rest of the collection wouldn’t even fit on the chair. When we say you can check out up to 200 items, we really do mean it. Borrowing books, DVDs, and digital downloads is quick, easy, and best of all, free! Just to give you all an idea, I quickly calculated how much I am actually saving. I saved $497.76, and that’s not including sales tax. Wahoo!
Some highlights from the brief sampling in the photo include:
