Community Resource for Textbooks
September 09, 2011
Whether you’re a homeschool family or a college student, you know the hurt text book purchases places on your budget. The Heartland Book Bank is a not-for-profit organization located at 1425 Oak Street in Kansas City. They provide FREE text books in all subjects for all grades through college. Services are provided by appointment only. Heartland Book Bank can be reached at 472-5600.
Textbooks and teaching resources in stock have been donated from public and private schools, from homeschool families, and individuals. If you have textbooks, they will gladly take your donation (again, by appointment only).
Heartland Book Bank is staffed by volunteers and has a limited budget. They don’t have the resources to advertise, but you can find them on Facebook. Their Facebook page includes a map to their location and a list of other nearby places that you can visit while you’re in the area. Their primary advertising is by word of mouth, so pass on this excellent resource to others!
