Keeping Backyard Bees

Description: Did you know that the age of an average beekeeper in the United States is 56? Or that we have lost close to 50 percent of our bee population in the past five years due to colony collapse disorder? Learn about the function of bees and their role in our food supply chain. Some care and set-up tips will be shared and attendees will leave with a better understanding of how they can make a difference and promote beekeeping in their own backyards. This class is approximately 2 hours.
