Come See the New Layout at the Blue Springs South Branch!
June 08, 2010
As you may have noticed, the Blue Springs South Branch was closed the first week of May. On Monday, May 10, the branch reopened to reveal new carpeting and a brand new layout featuring a fresh, open floor plan with more shelving and seating.
One of the most notable changes in our design is the relocation of the catalog computers. Before, several computers were banked together in only 2 locations inside the library. Now, a computer with library catalog access is available in close proximity to nearly every section of the library.
For laptop users, we have installed some additional outlets and smaller laptop tables in the reading area.
The children’s shelving was brought towards the front of the building so that it is visible and quickly accessible right as you enter the branch. The large print section was also moved forward towards the circulation desk for easy access, while the fiction section was shifted from the far back corner towards the circulation desk and public Internet computer area.
These are just a few of the changes we have made to enhance the appearance and the usability of our library so we invite you to come check it out for yourself. Staff is on hand to help you find materials and navigate the new layout.
