Come Play With Us!
November 17, 2010
Every Monday and Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m., we have Laptime at the Red Bridge Branch. Laptime is a time for parents or grandparents and children (3 and under) to come and learn colors, shapes, animals, songs and much, much more!
We start by identifying an animal; where they live, what noise they make, and what they eat. After we’ve identified the animal, we open with the song "If You’re Happy and You Know It."
Everyone gathers around in a half circle of chairs set up in our activity area. We also have a variety of fun songs we sing, from "The Wheels on the Bus", "Old MacDonald", "John Jacob Jingle Hiemer Schmidt" – and so much more.
Children enjoy using the rhythm sticks, bead shakers, and bells as well as singing the songs. As the books are read to the children, we identify the pictures on the pages. The children are welcome to come up and feel the items on the pages as well.
At the end of Laptime, the children learn how to clean up and gather into a full circle. "Here We Go Loop De Loo" is sung using a CD, and then we do "Ring Around the Rosey."
Parents, grandparents, nannies, and friends – brings the little ones for some Good Time Fun at the Red Bridge Branch!
It’s definitely an experience you wouldn’t want to miss!
