Cinder
September 20, 2012
Can you imagine a story with a cyborg Cinderella? Cinder by Marissa Meyer is a thrilling novel with a futuristic take on a classic fairy tale. Cinder is an underdog who is different and doesn't quite fit in, but she is a true heroine. Since the book is a retelling of Cinderella, there's a shoe (or rather a foot), an evil stepmother, a charming prince, and, of course, a ball.
This book also dealt with relevant issues going on in our daily lives such as discrimination, the loss of loved ones, and child abuse. The background plots are subtle, but easy enough to see and contribute to the overall feeling of the story.
This is a quick and easy read with a fast paced plot, so dive in and discover Cinder's world.
