Change in Family History Library Microfilm Borrowing Fee

Due to higher costs in microfilm material and in shipping rates, effective February 15, 2012, the fees to borrow microfilm from the Family History Library have increased:

• Short-term film loan (must be returned within 90 days)      $7.50
• Short-term film loan renewal (for an additional 60 days)    $7.50
• Extended film loan (indefinite loan)         $18.75
• Microfiche loan (any number of fiche)       $4.75

Microfilm may be ordered online. You will need to set up a free FamilySearch account, and you must also have a personal email account. As you place your order, select Mid-Continent Public Library as your affiliate library, and the film will be delivered to the Midwest Genealogy Center for you to view. In addition, you will receive an email telling you when your order has shipped from the Family History Library and another e-mail letting you know when the film has arrived at the Midwest Genealogy Center.
