Change Is In the Air

September 16, 2010

Do you feel it? Autumn is just around the corner! Soon, there will be a refreshing crispness in the air; pumpkins will start showing up in markets; the leaves will start to turn glorious shades of yellows, oranges and reds. These are some of the things we all associate with the changing season. In a short time, summer’s heat will be a fuzzy memory. Change is in the air.

One's thoughts turn to new ideas, new directions, celebrations, and get-togethers that will be coming up in the months ahead----and cooking! The cooler weather will be perfect for turning on the oven and taking off the chill by cooking those comfort foods we enjoy when the temperature has dropped, such as creamy macaroni and cheese. Or, maybe you want to heat things up a bit with some spicy entrees--like red-hot chili. One of my favorite titles is Autumn From the Heart of the Home by Susan Branch.

Perhaps you are tired of the recipes you've prepared countless times--maybe you need a change! The Raytown Branch has a wonderful collection of cookbooks for every occasion and every season, as well as dietary likes and needs. We can't come to your home and help you cook dinner, but we can help you with all your cooking and meal planning. Come in and see what we have to offer, or visit our website, request something online, and then come in to pick up your items.

Wouldn't a slice of homemade pumpkin pie taste good?
