Celebrate Storytelling
October 31, 2011
As a little girl, I remember listening to my great-great-great Aunt Mary, who was born at the end of the nineteenth century, tell stories of a world without cars, telephones, or TV. She lived through two World Wars, voted for the first time at 25 after marching for suffrage, and endured the Great Depression. What a life she lived, and the lessons she taught me were priceless! Now when I share her stories, she continues to live on.
Join us for a Storytelling Celebration on November 2nd at 4 p.m. at the Dearborn Branch! We'll hear legends, tall tales, and myths from acclaimed storytellers, and rediscover the power of oral traditions. Maybe, you'll be inspired to share your own stories with friends, family, and neighbors.
