Capturing Fond Memories
October 29, 2012
You know those old pictures that you inherited from your grandparents or your parents that you keep meaning to sort or do something with? Well, Heritage Scrapbooking at MGC is the place for you to be! On the first Saturday of each month, we meet to help each other create a timeline of pictures for your family. Most people do it in scrapbook form with some embellishments and creativity. Others simply record and mount the pictures with just names and dates. Either way, it is two hours that you can set aside for going through those boxes and bags sitting in your closet. The records that you create with your pictures will be appreciated by your family, if not now, then later. Nothing is worse than having a relative pass away and someone finds boxes of fascinating old photos, but no one knows who they are. The back of the picture may say, "Zelda," but no one knows who "Zeld" was. Don’t let that happen to your heirloom photos!
The shots of you or your parents with short skirts and long-haired boys and girls will be a way for your children to recognize that you were "somebody" before you were their parent. Perhaps, they never met their grandparents or their Aunt Nellie. Heritage Scrapbooking is a way to introduce your family to your family! We’ll be glad to help you get started, and we all enjoy sharing ideas. The next meeting is Saturday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Register today and come join us!
