Buried Treasure

The Arabia Steamboat Museum in Kansas City’s River Quay area is a true Kansas City gem.  I had the honor of visiting this museum last summer, and must say, I was not disappointed. 

MCPL offers books and videos on the discovery and excavation of the steamboat Arabia which led to the creation of the museum.  There are buttons, perfumes, china, boots, firearms, and so much more all intact to see.  It’s hard to believe these treasures were underwater for over 100 years right here in the Kansas City/Parkville area!

So, do yourself a favor and check out a book or video on the Arabia, and then definitely go see all the "goodies" at the Arabia Steamboat Museum.  You won’t be disappointed!
