Bully Trouble: Teen Star Demi Lovato Shares Her Story

April 25, 2011

Do you ever worry about your kids facing a bully? Disney teen star Demi Lovato recently shared her story of facing bullies on 20/20. (Click here for the story.)

Their cruel treatment drove Lovato to depression, bulimia, and other harmful behaviors like cutting her wrists. Lovato says she is on the right road now and has received help as she fights her inner battles. She has had "Stay Strong" tattooed on her wrists as a reminder to herself. But, my heart cries for her and all the children who have suffered from bullies.

You may not always be able to protect your children, but you can encourage them and equip them as they head out into the world. I hope none of us will ignore bullying. It is serious.
