Building a Home...Yourself?
February 11, 2013
My husband and I have been looking into building a home. The first thing I wanted to do was find a floor plan I liked. We had some particular specifications including: one floor, small square footage, etc. As I was wandering the stacks one day, I discovered that the Library is the perfect place to start when looking to build a house.
The Library has books of floor plans for just about any size or style of house you want to build. We also have books on how to be your own contractor when building a house, how to talk to and pick out contractors, how to build the house yourself, and even how to build an energy efficient or "green" house.
So if you are thinking about building a house or just want to explore the possibility, check out your local Library first!
