The Bridge is Gone, But We're Still Here
May 21, 2013
Some of you may not know this, but the bridge over the I-29 exit at County Roads E and U in Camden Point is no longer there. It was demolished in the evening hours of May 10, 2013. The construction of the new bridge should take most of the summer. But we at the Camden Point Branch are still here, and the Library is open as usual. You might have to take a few scenic routes for a while, but at least the weather is nice.
If you are coming from the south, you can get off the Interstate on the E/U exit and turn right as usual. You just can’t go home that way. Just take County Road E back the direction you came, and follow the detour signs (left at Elm Grove Road.) This will take you to Tracy and Platte City. Or the friendly staff at the Camden Point Branch can help you get to your next destination.
If you are coming from the north on I-29, take the exit at County Roads Z and H in Dearborn. Turn left and go through Dearborn past Platte Valley Bank. Then turn right onto Interurban Road, veer left, and travel approximately six miles until the road comes to a stop sign. You are now at County Road E in Camden Point. Turn left and you are back to where you need to be.
Feel free to call us at the Camden Point Branch and we will try to help you in any way we can.
