A Bookmark's Odyssey Continues - Paris
July 12, 2011
Now I must say "Bonjour" since I am in Paris. I survived the bumpy ride on the plane, and it tickled when the custom inspectors searched the suitcase. Anyway, here I am on top of the Eiffel Tower! C’est magnifique! It’s a little scary because of the gusty winds up here, so I must hold on tight. It’s also a little rainy today. There are crowds of people from many countries up here and so many languages. I wish I could understand their stories. As I look out over the city of Paris, I can see so many sights...Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Seine River, and the Arc de Triomphe to name a few. So much history and so many stories! I wonder if I could fly the 900 feet from the top and land softly down below. It’s probably not a good idea. I might land in the river and get all wet. I’ll take the elevator like the rest of the tourists. I think a flaky French pastry would taste good right now.
