Book Title Poems #1
June 06, 2011
Book titles have always fascinated me. Some are silly, some are mysterious, and some make you think. Recently, I stumbled across a different form of poetry that is written from book titles. You simply stack different books together and read the title names from the spine of the books. Rearrange the books in the stack until a simple poem is formed. It’s a simple and fun way to explore the different book selections at the library. Here’s one that I tried from our shelves:
Daddy’s Little Girl
Caught
Dancing in the Dark
Remember Me
The Second Time Around
The way that you read the poems you have just created changes the way the poem is perceived. Try adding more enthusiasm or pauses in different areas to make your poem just the way you want it. Enjoy finding great titles and creating new poems at the library today!
