Book Series for Guys

The two Swagger series by Stephen Hunter are fast paced, action packed, and my personal favorites.  Earl Swagger was a Marine WWII Medal of Honor winner and an Arkansas State Police Sergeant.  His Son, Bob Lee, is a Marine Vietnam veteran and famous Sniper.  Hunter pays special attention in his novels to descriptions of firearms and their operation.  He is also a Kansas City native. The two series should be read in order to get the full feel of the characters; but are excellent stand alone novels as well.  The Earl Swagger series is comprised of 3 novels starting with Hot Springs.  The Bob Lee Swagger series is comprised of 7 novels, starting with Point of Impact, which was the basis for the film, Shooter.  All of the Swagger novels are available in the MCPL system.
