Book Lovers Never Go to Bed Alone
February 15, 2013
After a recent visit to a Chinese restaurant, I was eager to open the crunchy cookie to find my "fortune." The words of wisdom that fell onto my lap were "Book lovers never go to bed alone." With the cold and raging winds of winter making a return (after a delightful little warm spell), many may be home sick in bed. And what better way to pass the time than to lose oneself in a good book?
If you haven't been struck with illness yet, we invite you to check out our physical collection. Our newer fiction is conveniently located near the entrance to the Library, and we display our "Most Requested Authors" on a table just past the main circulation desk. Additionally, our new "Staff Picks" section at the end of the adult nonfiction collection provides a peek into the reading interests of people who love their books as much as you do! You can also use the "Who? What? Where? When?" feature of our Books & Authors database to discover new favorites.
Don’t feel like going to the Library? You can still access the Library from home with a library card. MCPL has a wide range of eBooks and audiobooks available at your fingertips through OverDrive. Not quite sure how to get those materials from us to you? We feature an in-depth Help section on our website. And, of course, if you are able to come into our branch, we'd be happy to help you one-on-one. You'll just need to call to Book a Librarian.
Remember, "Book lovers never go to bed alone." So, look on the bright side. If you are "under the weather," that doesn’t mean you can’t stay on top of your reading!
