Boardwalk Storytime Break... A Great Time to Start a New Tradition!
December 12, 2012
All Boardwalk storytimes will be taking a December break from Monday, December 17, 2012 through January 1, 2013. This will give all of us time to finish our holiday preparations and prepare for the new year. We will resume all storytimes in their usual slots on Tuesday, January 2, 2013.
We hope that you will take time to come into the Library during these busy weeks. Check out books for your children and take some relaxing moments during the holiday rush to sit quietly together and share some "down" time. Remember, this is the season for family and for sharing. What better way to do that than to start some new family traditions, like reading an old, familiar classic Christmas book. Try some of these titles...
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer by Alan Benjamin
T'was the Night before Christmas by Clement Moore
How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss
Or try some new books...
What Could be Keeping Santa? by Marilyn Janovitz
Santa’s Stuck by Rhonda Greene
Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson
Perhaps one of your new traditions could be baking cookies together; the Library offers lots of holiday cookbooks. A few titles are:
Christmas Cookies: 50 Recipes to Treasure for the Holiday Season by Lisa Zwirn
Taste of Home: Christmas Cookies & Candy
Christmas Cookies! A Holiday Cookbook by Susan Devins
Whatever tradition you choose to start or share with your loved ones, just remember that this is the season for joy and for giving. Make this holiday something fun for all of you, relax, and have a fabulous holiday!
