Blue Springs South Teens Create Some Practical Works of Art
March 01, 2012
Last Saturday, we had a teen program at Blue Springs South. We made hair barrettes out of silk flowers that we had lying around the house. After a good rinse to remove dust and dry time in the sun, we were ready to reduce, recycle, and reuse!!!
We cut circles out of old felt and used hot glue to create our masterpieces. We took apart the silk flowers so they were just one layer of petals. That way, we could mix and match to create to our hearts content. We added "jewels" to the middle, metal barrettes to the back, and Voila!!! Magnifico!!!
All we needed was a model so we could show off most of our masterpieces at once. Yeah for Aaron!! We love the good sports that work here at Blue Springs South Branch.
If you are a teen and you want to play monopoly and eat snacks with us Saturday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m, please sign up online. Or, just bring your friends aged 12-18 and show up!
